Multi-Touch Test

One finger or all ten. See every contact, in its own color, as it happens.

THE QUICK START

A little touch. A lot of insight.

  1. 01

    Open the touch surface

Start the test and place one finger on the screen. Keep it there.

  2. 02

    Add fingers, one by one

Watch the active count climb. Each pointer gets its own colored trail.

  3. 03

    Move them together

Check that every trail follows smoothly. The maximum records your highest simultaneous count.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things
to know.

Quick answers. Clear expectations.

How many fingers should my screen detect?

There is no universal number. The maximum depends on your screen, browser, operating system, and gesture settings. This test reports the contacts delivered to this page, rather than your device’s advertised hardware limit.

Why does a finger disappear from the count?

A lifted finger or canceled pointer is removed from the active count. System gestures, palm rejection, and browser behavior can also cancel a contact. Try again with your fingers away from the screen edges.

Can I test multi-touch with a mouse?

A mouse lets you check the surface and trails, but normally produces only one pointer. Use a touch-capable display to test several simultaneous fingers.
